Innocentive Project

Last year, we had a couple of MSP students compete in an Innocentive project to help solve a real-world problem. If you have not heard about Innocentive, it is a site where companies from around the world can issue a challenge for a problem that they need help with and give a monetary reward for the group that is able to find the best solution for them. They have many projects that require a STEM background and we have been encouraging student groups to try to take on another challenge this semester with help from us and a faculty mentor. One of our students has narrowed down the current projects to three choices that he would like to form an Engage In STEM student group to compete in.

The three selected challenge are:
– “Preventing Ice Formation Inside Packages of Frozen Foods
– “Measuring Weight of Live Animals
– “Minimizing Surface Damage on a Chocolate Product
